A long time ago, the St. Louis Blues were one of the NHL’s best teams, but for a very long time, they’ve been out of the picture. That all changed in 2019 when they finally made an appearance in the Stanley Cup after so long away. Welcome back to the Stanley Cup, St. Louis!

Starting Well
When the St. Louis Blues first entered the NHL, it didn’t take them long to make an impression on the rest of the league. They joined the NHL in 1967 and in just their second season they made the Stanley Cup. St. Louis failed to win, but they were impressive the following season and made it back to the Stanley Cup.
Once again the Blues didn’t take the victory and fell at the last hurdle. Little did their new fans realize that it would be almost 50 years before they would feature in the Stanley Cup series again. The Blues seemingly were able to achieve defeat when it looked like victory was on the cards more often than their fans would wish to care. After so many years of hurt, was 2019 going to be the year their fortunes finally turned around?

How It Ended
Although St. Louis had made history by getting back to the Stanley Cup after 49 years, they were hoping to go one step further and seal victory. The series went all the way to the wire, and in the seventh game, the Blues finally managed to overcome the Boston Bruins. They took the final game of the series 4-1 and sealed their place in history after winning their first Stanley Cup in their 52-year history.
After almost half a century, the St. Louis Blues were finally able to win their very first Stanley Cup, in a ‘winner-take-all’ victory for the ages.
