It seems like the whole world is gearing up for Super Bowl Sunday, but golf fans have got something else on their minds. If football isn’t your thing, don’t worry about feeling left out, the LIV Golf tournament is taking place on the very same weekend! And if you like both sports, you may just need to get really good at multitasking.
The Details
LIV Golf will take over the Las Vegas Country Club on February 8th, 9th, and 10th. What makes this so historic is the fact that the sport had a hand in financing the establishment it’ll now be played in. Not to mention, a lot of high-profile celebrities choose the Las Vegas Country Club for their own golf games. Most notably, Hollywood legend Dean Martin would frequent the club for his own games.
Combining Golf and Vegas
One of LIV Golf’s first recruits from the PGA Tour, Bryson DeChambeau, thinks that golf and Vegas can make the perfect combination. He said, “The Vegas history is pretty unique with the way it started and how it is a city built from pretty much nothing. The (LIV Golf) money is great, but I think the spectacle is even more important. Vegas has a tradition and history of casinos and gambling, and all of that is interesting for live golf. I think we are starting to get into that a little bit more. I am excited for the time when we can start gambling on each hole, like closest to the pin, longest drive, and all that sort of stuff. That is what LIV Golf wants to bring. LIV Golf is going to add to the history of Las Vegas. We are looking forward to bringing Las Vegas a new spectacle, something unique and different in the game of golf.”
